Yes becuase when they go to find the animals they have two go look for cluse to find the bones and animals and watch out for other animals and they look for foot prints and dropings and small markes.
No because it does not make since to call them that because there scientists not detectives. They are two different things. Detectives is the one how look and fines the clue and the Scientists is the one who finds the answer to the question.

I think yes because they need to find out many things about the object or animal that they have found.They also need to find research the answer to any questions people might have about the item or creature.So technically they need to find answers just like detective's. : )
